**Referred to as a tension strut by BMW, includes inner bushing** This control arm is a common wear item on higher mileage BMW. It is responsible with "locating" the front suspension and is an important component. The inner bushing is known to fail first resulting in vibrations at about 55MPH. The inner bushing can be replaced but in most cases if the inner bushing fails the outer ball joint has failed which will require replacement of the entire control arm. Always replace control arms in matched pairs for best performance and service life.
