The whole purpose of ball joints is to allow for the suspension to pivot and moves with undulations and dips in the road. When ball joints wear out they can cause all sorts of issues including poor handling and uneven tire wear. Additionally, worn out ball joints will often make noises like clicking which is a clear indicator that they need to be replaced. When replacing ball joints it is suggested to replace them in pairs.
