Genuine Audi/VW OEM Alternator Freewheel Clutch Pulley (part number 06H 903 119 B). This specialized pulley bolts onto the alternator shaft and features a one-way clutch mechanism (similar to a bicycle freewheel). It is designed to decouple the high-inertia alternator rotor from the serpentine belt when the engine rapidly decelerates. This action reduces belt tension fluctuation, prevents belt slippage, and minimizes noise and wear on the entire accessory drive system, especially the tensioner. Failure usually results in rattling, whining, or a loud flapping noise, or can lead to premature wear of the belt and tensioner.
